Auckland set the stage for the first Bootcamp of 2023 with over 100 business owners pouring into the Aotea Centre ready for actionable insights, invaluable networking, and a healthy dose of motivation to keep them on track with their business improvement journey.
Our coaches delved deep into game-changing modules. Phil presented his module on ‘Mastering the Art of Sales,’ which for many was the highlight of the event. Phil started by addressing the sales mistakes that many make causing them to disappoint customers, disappoint team members, and lose sales. Before going through his 5-step sales strategy that is designed to set the tone, position the sale, and build the pain with the customer to increase sales success.
Cam helped our members get clued up on ‘Crushing Difficult Conversations’. A leadership skill that is often intimidating for trades business owners meaning they’re often avoided, and when they are completed, the situation gets worse not better. Cam looked at how culture effects these conversations, getting to the real route of the problem, and a step-by-step guide on having a difficult conversation. Members were left with an approach they could use to control the difficult conversation and get the desired outcome every time.
Next some members took centre stage in our spotlight sessions. Carmen Maio from MCORE, Tas & Sam Dunton from Dunton Group, and Cam shared strategies that had brought their businesses success. Encapsulating the culture within the Profitable Tradie member community, our members are as invested in others success as much as they are their own, sharing their winning techniques so other owners can get their own results.
In our Client of the Quarter presentation, the nominees Luke & Carne Groombridge from Groombridge Electrical, Aaron from AMAC Electrical Contractors, and Natalie & Simon Rowney from Tootill Services presented their success stories. While all were incredibly inspiring, the winner came down to the vote of all the members at Bootcamp, and Natalie & Simon took out the prize.
18 businesses were recognized in the Belt Ceremony for the growth of their annual profit. Each coloured belt awarded represented not just monetary achievement but the improvement of lifestyle for each owner. Plenty more belts were sent out to our members not at Bootcamp to recognise their success.
Our guest speaker, Cam Colkeon, stole the show. Born with Cerebral Palsy, Cam was told he’d never be able to run or speak. Yet, here he stood as an athletic gold medallist and a captivating speaker. His journey of overcoming the odds resonated deeply, pushing attendees to believe in possibilities beyond their imagination.
Here’s what some of the attendees had to say…
All work and no play? Not at Bootcamp 2023! Attendees let their hair down with a themed day at the races. Dressed in their best horse-racing attire, the fun continued into the evening with a spirited quiz night.
As the sun set on Auckland, one thing was clear – the Bootcamp 2023 was not just about business growth; it was about personal growth, community, and the building a lifestyle deserving of a hard-working business owner. Until next time, Auckland.
